Edward Dodson, 70, of Grove City, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at Mt. Carmel West. He was born January 24, 1939 in Harrison County, son of the late Elmer and Ruth Wright Dodson. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Greenwood. He served in the Marines and was the owner of S&R Mechanical Services. Ed is survived by his wife, Jill Chaney Dodson; daughter, Suzan (Larry) Walters; sons, Scott (Julie) Dodson and Sam (Cindy) Dodson; sister, Naomi (Clyde) Hiestand; grandchildren, Dustin Walters, Jess, Alec and Rachel Dodson; best friend, Fred Guthrie. Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel , 3393 Broadway, Grove City, with the memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harrison County Home, 41500 Cadiz-Dennison Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907.

Ed will be remembered for his generous spirit, big heart and booming laugh. He loved people, nature, his beautiful family farm and most of all a hard days work. Ed has countless friends and family that loved him and will miss him in a way that words could never describe.
