Edward L. Ford, 73, of Delaware, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 28, 2012 at his residence.
He was born May 8, 1939 in Columbus, son of the late Edward and Lillian Winters Ford.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ford and beloved uncle, Robert Winters.
He lived in Columbus until he moved to Delaware, OH 8 years ago.
Ed was a self employed owner operator in the trucking business retiring in December 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carole Butters Ford; daughter, Lisa Fillion of Titusville, FL; son, David (Rose) Ford of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Jessica (Alan) Eastom, Jordan Ford, Justin Ford and Blake Ford all of Ft. Wayne, IN.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1950 Arlingate Ln. Columbus, OH 43228.
