Edward J. Funk, 51. Of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born to Robert J. and Minnie (Harmon) Funk on September 8, 1957, in Springfield, OH, Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Reaper; brother, James Booth. Survivors include his daughter, Christina (Jeromy) Hanes; sons, Daniel (Christy) Funk and Edward Funk; sisters, Trish (Bob) Skinner, Nancy Elekes, Barbara (Anthony) Turner; brother, Chris (Stephanie) Funk; grandchildren, Caleb, Brittany, Joey, Alexis, Cheyanne, Chloe, Courtney; nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2008, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Monday, December 29, 2008, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Community Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
