Edward Hysell

March 6, 1950 — January 26, 2024

Edward Ellis Hysell, 73, of Columbus, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by his loved ones at home on Friday, January 26, 2024. Edward was born on March 6, 1950 to Enid King and Harold Hysell. He was an avid landscaper. Ed helped many of his friends design landscapes for their properties, creating art from all types of plants. He also loved to collect unique rocks, which he would then use to line his gardens and create beautiful stone sculptures from them as well. He was a passionate college sports fan, especially when it came to Ohio State Football and basketball! He enjoyed participating in the Hysell Men's Basketball Tournament every year and proudly held the trophy multiple times.
Edward was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1969 until 1975 as a Ground Radio Operator, living for a year overseas in Osan Korea. He was a faithful Christian and loved to talk to ANYONE about God, just ask the Jehovah Witnesses who would regularly get stuck on our front porch for hours at a time!!
Ed was married to Nanci Reichenbach (Hysell) for 48 years. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his daughters Hilary Hysell, Katie Hysell (Andrew Toll), and his bonus daughter Laura Lemley (Beach); grandchildren Brooklynn Crenshaw and Phillip Toll; brother Gary Hysell (Dianne); along with many, many family members and life long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Hysell, Enid Bare (King), sister Kimberly Hysell and his brother Mark Hysell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 10th 2024 from 2-5pm at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231. All are welcome.
