Edward L. Meeks 78, Columbus, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010. Ed was born in Cloverlick, WV., on June 28, 1931, to Kenny W. and Leona (Burner) Meeks and is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ella (Freeman) Meeks; sons, Mark and Kevin Meeks; grandchildren, Abbi and Jimmy Meeks; daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Dallas) Meeks; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his son, Mike (Linda) Meeks; grandchildren; Jason, Christopher, Heidi and Corey Meeks; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille (Ralph) Robinson; many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed worked for the city of Columbus as an electrical inspector for 26 years, was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a member of the Grand Lodge of West Virginia for 50 years where he was a Master Mason. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Disease Management Clinic, Riverside Hospital, Columbus, OH 43214, attention: Lee Jordan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
