Edward L. Rife, 73, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born May 26, 1937 in Columbus, son of the late Willis "Jack" and June Figgins Rife. Ed was a past Monarch of Achbar Grotto, 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite York Lodge #563 F.& A.M., member of the Kentucky Colonels and an avid sportsmen. He is survived by his wife, Joyce McNaughton Rife; sons, Robert Rife, David (Roxanne) Gaffney and John Gaffney; daughters, Rhonda (Kyle) Tuller and Cora Putnam; brother, Art (Sue) Rife; sister, Judith Muhe and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd Columbus, with a Masonic service beginning at 7:30 PM. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with the Dr. William L. Snider, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
