Edward Lee Shell, Sr.

Edward L. Shell, Sr. passed away peacefully at home of natural causes, at the young age of 75, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on July 12, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clarence Leslie and Mary Ann Shell.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Shell; brother, Bob Porter, sister, Norma and several other brothers and sisters.
Edward is survived by sons, Edward (Cathy) Shell, Jr., Michael (Tabby) Shell, daughter, Renee Doppes; grandchildren, Michael McCabe, Samantha Shell, Jamie (Gavin) Falk, Devon (Phil) Schultz; many great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Edward was a proud veteran, having served honorably in the United States Navy. He was an avid casino player and also enjoyed bowling and fishing. One of Edward's favorite spots was Delaney's Diner. He truly enjoyed the food and people he met there.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 12:00pm also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
