Edwin Franklin Shaffer, 69, of Galloway, passed away October 14, 2005 at Arbors West Nursing Home in West Jefferson. Ed retired from Nationwide Insurance after 41 years of faithful service. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Shaffer. Ed is survived by his former wife Barbara Ward of Grassy Key, FL; daughter Tina (Skip) Warren of Marathon, FL; sons Edwin (Jane) Shaffer of Streamwood, IL, Robert Shaffer of Columbus; stepdaughters Krista (Russell) Tetzloff, Belinda Bagent; stepson William (Deanna) Chatfield all of Columbus; grandchildren Michelle, Lisa, Michael, Sally, Emily, Kyle, Kelcey, Brittani, Brianna and great-granddaughter Melynn. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, October 18, 2005. He will be cremated and laid to rest at Mifflin Township Cemetery in Gahanna. Donations may be made in Ed's memory to the American Cancer Society, 870 Michigan Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43215. Messages of condolence may be left at www.newcomerfamily.com
