Mrs. Edwina Jean Rojas, age 71, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, April 9, 2007 at Westminster-Thurber Retirement Community. Edwina was born June 29, 1935 to the proud parents of the late Edwin and Pearlie Mitchell Hughes of Columbus. Edwina came to know the Lord at an early age and she attended public school in Columbus. She met and later married US Navy PO1 Thomas Edward Elder Sr. They traveled extensively from Georgia to California, to Newport, Rhode Island just to name a few. To this union she was blessed with six children; two girls and four boys. Edwina is survived by her daughters, Christina Marie (Ronald) Elder Davis-Falls of San Diego, CA and Kandy Jean Elder of Bowie, MD; sons, Thomas Edward (Rose) Elder Jr. of Tacoma, WA, Ronald "Yahveh" Mario (Francine) Elder of Bowie, MD, Gerald Edwin Elder of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Eugene Johnson of Columbus; sister, Barbara Bowles of Columbus; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; uncles, Raymond and Tullis Mitchell of Columbus and a host of extended family and friends. This union was later resolved and Edwina was blessed to find love once again united in matrimony to Pedro Rojas, until her untimely death. She is preceded in death by her son Marcus Ulysses. She leaves to cherish her memories to all that have loved and known her. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Christian Center 298 S. Rockyfor Dr. Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
