Elaine Norma Griffin (nee Munsey) born July 16, 1937 in Brunswick Maine, died peacefully at home October 29, 2023.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 yrs, Thomas (Tom) Griffin, son Donald (Don) Griffin, brothers Stanley (Stan) Munsey, Emery Munsey, sisters Joan Smith, Dolores Williams and best friends Patricia (Pat) Sadler and Nancy Ball.
Survived by children Gale Woodburn, JoAnne Casserly (Bill), Gary Griffin. Grandchildren Aaron Woodburn (Kirti), Nicholas Woodburn (Chesley), Joseph Casserly. Great grandchildren Mokshi Woodburn, Shaanvi Woodburn. Very good friend Nora Labbe. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elaine (mom) was loving, compassionate, eager to travel and learn but also a feisty and fierce protector of who and what she believed in.
Her compassion served her, her family and the community well. She was a nurses aid for 35+ yrs. In nursing homes, hospitals and private duty assignments. All with glowing references. She also loved working the polls at election time and several positions on the neighborhood watch program.
She also showed us love and compassion for animals. Even the not so lovable ones. So, yes mom, I will take care of your #!$% cat!
You are and will be deeply missed!
