Elbert Mather Sidle
February 4, 1925 — April 21, 2021
Elbert M. Sidle went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2021 at the age of 96 years old. Born February 4, 1925 in North Ridgeville, Ohio.
He graduated from Central High School in Columbus and was immediately drafted into the U.S. Navy for WWII. After boot camp he married his high school sweetheart, Betty, they were married over 64 years until her death. Upon returning from WWII, he was a carpenter and cabinet maker. Elbert loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. Over his 9 decades he was a member and served at the following churches: Linden Nazarene, Orange Road Friends, North Church of Christ, and Cornerstone Church.
Preceded in death by his wife Betty (Stimmel) Sidle, Parents George and Marie Sidle, brothers Hamilton and Rowan.
Survived by second wife Velma, daughter Sherry & (Dave) Foor, son Steve & (Dede), grandchildren Kelly & (Bob) Brown, Christian Sidle, Sarah & (Mike) Cunningham, Jesse & (Jane) Washkau, great grandchildren Madison & Jessica Brown, Piper, Ezra, Oakley, & Winney Washkau, sister Barbara Payne.
Visitation will be held from 10-11am, Monday, April 26, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065, where a funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Africa Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH.
