Ellen V. Townsend, 73, of Columbus, passed away June 2, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon and Vilillian Donaldson; brother, Spurgeon Jr.; twin sister, Ann; sisters, Gloria, Candace and former husband, Edward Townsend. Ellen is survived by her children, Barry Townsend, Apollo (Bennie) Harold, Tina Kirby, Dawn Townsend, Ruth Townsend; sister, Lydia Crandall; aunt, Ada Ali; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Ellen retired from Lucent in 2001. She was a faithful member of First Church of God where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director. She was also a faithful member of World Harvest Church serving on the prayer line. Funeral services will be held 7:00PM Friday, June 9, 2006 at the First Church of God, 3480 Refugee Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43232 with Bishop Timothy J. Clarke officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until time of services at the church. Interment will be held 10:00AM Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.
