Ellis Dean Boling, Colonel USAF Retired, 63, passed away March 14, 2011. He was born in Salem, Indiana to Ralph and the late Eleanor Boling. Dean graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Aurora University in Illinois. He received a Master's degree from Central Michigan University, a Juris Doctor degree from Capital University, and a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR). He retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service, during which time he served in Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Dean received numerous awards and medals including the Bronze Star for Desert Storm. He was appointed Deputy Director Resource Management and Chief Human Resource Officer for the Ohio Adjutant General's Department. Dean is survived by his wife Mary after 41 years of marriage and daughters Juliet (Bryan) Peoples and Nicole Boling. Step-grandchildren Casey, Sean and Erin Peoples and grandson Thomas Dean Peoples – the light of his life. Siblings Edwin(Kathy)Boling, Juanita(Mick)Schickel and Monty(Kristy)Boling. Visitation hours at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City will be from 2:00-4:00 PM Saturday, March 19 with a service following at 4:00 PM Reverend Freddy Dutton officiating. A private interment with military honors will take place at a later date at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dean's name to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank or the Columbus Symphony.
