Emma C. Oglesbee, 97, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on September 23, 1925 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia to the late Robert and Emma Jeane McCann.
Emma is preceded in death by husband, John W. Oglesbee; sisters, Homzell Hughes, Beverly Jenkins, Louise Monroe, brothers, William Mc Cann, Robert Mc Cann.
Emma is survived by her children, Donza Buchanan, Fred Oglesbee, William (Gloria) Oglesbee, John (Lori) Oglesbee, Joan Oglesbee; grandchildren, Ericha (Shannon) King, Stephanie Scott (Michael Robinson), Amber Oglesbee (Eric Smoot), Nieyatta Oglesbee (Jordan Dunbar), Myia Gholston, Marques (Courtney) Scott, William Oglesbee, II (Whitney Jones); 15 great-grandchildren; 1 goddaughter, Anna Mae Jenkins; special nephews, Carl J. Jenkins of Shepherdstown, WV, Pastor Kent Creamer of Clovis, NM; longtime friends, Joyce Meade of Columbus, OH, Shirley Baird of Moreno Valley, CA, several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 and Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Mount Gerizim Baptist Church, 2633 Mock Rd, Columbus, Ohio, 43219. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm also at Mount Gerizim Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Kearneysville, WV.
