Eric Ray Anderson

February 16, 1967 — December 17, 2024

Eric Ray Anderson, 57, was born on February 16, 1967 in Akron, Ohio to Ray and Dorothy (Roller) Anderson and he proceeded to Glory after a short time with us on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio.

He attended Centennial High School and graduated in 1985. He then attended trade schools in the city of Columbus, and after receiving certifications, he started two successful businesses, Lawncare Landscaping, LLC in 2003, and Bounce House Boyz, LLC 2015. His businesses provided opportunities for his grandchildren and offered jobs for youth in the community, and contributed to their career development and goals for the future.

Eric loved spending time with his wife of 35 years Glenda Anderson as they lived, loved, and worked together. Eric enjoyed cruising with his wife, twin brother, and sister-in-law. He also enjoyed counseling youth in the community, hosting neighborhood cookouts for family and friends, watching movies and basketball, playing cards, listening to music, building businesses that supported youth career development, and more importantly helping to mentor his grandson Lorenzo “Buddy” Hargrove Jr., as he watched him live and experience life to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by his father Ray Anderson, sister Brigitte Anderson, son James Hargrove, and grandmother Clara Willis.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Anderson; his mother, Dorothy Anderson; his special father, Robert (Nina) Strickland; his siblings, twin brother Deric (Sharon) Anderson, brother Shun Strickland; his son, Lorenzo (Cieaira) Hargrove; grandchildren, Lashai Gales, Carrington Gales, Jevon Hargrove, James Hargrove Jr, Deja Hargrove, Jamonte Hargrove, Lauryn Hargrove, and Lorenzo “Buddy” Hargrove Jr.; and his beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, and friends who will continue to carry forward his legacy, love, and kindness.

Eric was a remarkable man whose presence illuminated the lives of others around him. His life was a testament to his strength, knowledge, resilience, and unwavering faith. He faced challenges with a steadfast spirit and his hospitality could not be matched. He was a jokester who would hold his own with the best of them and his wisdom was sought after by family, friends, and no one was a stranger to him.

As we mourn the loss of our beloved son, husband, and brother, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the countless lives he touched. His memory will live on through the love and hospitality he shared with us all.
