It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Eric Edward Casey, a devoted husband, cherished son, and beloved friend, who left this world unexpectedly on March 14, 2025, at the age of 31. Born on November 2, 1993, in Bennington, Vermont, Eric's vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Eric was an accomplished Executive Chef, having honed his culinary artistry at The Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York, graduating in 2016. His passion for cooking began early in life, as his parents fondly remember him as a young child delighting in the joy of playing in the kitchen. He brought warmth and creativity to every dish he crafted, and his talent was showcased when he helped his in-laws win a BBQ Competition—one of his proudest accomplishments.
To Eric, family was everything. He was a huge family man, finding immense joy in spending time with his beloved wife, Tara Lynn Casey, who was not only his partner but his greatest supporter and best friend. Together, they shared countless adventures, including their love for riding Harley motorcycles, creating memories that will forever be cherished. Eric's love extended to his furry companions, Binx and Bailey, both of whom brought delight to his life.
Survived by his devoted family, including his father, Scott David Casey, and his mother, Joy Marie Casey, Eric also leaves behind a loving brother, Darren (Taylor) Casey, as well as a caring mother-in-law, Cathy (Keile) Baney, father-in-law, Zachary (Judith) Carrico, and brothers-in-law, Chase and Alston Carrico. Each of them will hold his memory close to their hearts, remembering his kindness and the laughter he spread throughout their lives.
Eric's personality was as radiant as his culinary creations. He was known for being a friend to everyone, embodying kindness and selflessness in all his interactions. His sense of humor, often laced with sarcasm, combined with his loving nature, made him a big teddy bear among friends and family alike. He had an incredible capacity to love, giving his whole heart to those around him, and he would truly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need as long as they didn't mind sleeveless.
In addition to his family, Eric is preceded in death by several beloved grandparents, including his grandmother, Beverly Casey, his grandfather, Lloyd Casey, and others who now welcome him into their eternal embrace: Edward DuBois, Sue DuBois, Roger Carrico, and Robert Baney.
A viewing to celebrate the life of Eric will be held on March 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, Ohio.
Eric Edward Casey may have left this world too soon, but his legacy of kindness, love, and passion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was truly a wonderful human, deeply loved, and profoundly missed.
