Erna Alvina Egland

Erna Alvina Egland, 91, Columbus, went to heaven with her Lord and Family that have gone before her, on Sunday, June 10, 2012. Erna was born in Detroit, MI on July 18, 1920, to Edward and Alvina (Pestch) Marske, and is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor S. Egland; daughter, Janelle Moore; son, Edward Egland; grandson, Doug Egland and granddaughter, Coleen Egland.

Survivors include her two sons; Alvin and Thomas Egland; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Erna was a devout Christian and a good friend and sister to all. She loved her family and enjoyed telling her stories. Erna and Victor would travel in the winter and made friends all over the world. Erna and Victor operated the concession stand at the Christian free drive-in for many years and were avid supporters of overseas missions as well as supporters of teen challenge in Columbus.

She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Columbus for 32 years; a member of Fredericktown Nazarene Church for many years and was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husbands business. She will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Friday, June 15, 2012, 11:00 AM.
