Ernesto Cruz

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a truly remarkable man, Ernesto Cruz, who left this world peacefully on March 19, 2024, just shy of his 84th birthday. Born on April 29, 1940, his journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of kindness, generosity, and love that left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Ernesto was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Blanca, with whom he shared the joys and challenges of life in a partnership that was a beacon of love and mutual respect. Together, they built a family foundation that was strong, nurturing, and full of life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his seven children and their spouses: John (Lori), Jacqueline (Tim), Libby (Jeff), Maritza (Robert), Daniel (Alice), Adriana (Ralph), and David; thirteen grandchildren--Jennifer Camille (Brett), Valerie, Grant, Bobby, Gabriella (Robert), Samuel, Joshua, Emma, Katie, Amber (Todd), Matthew, Danielle, and Anna--and one great-grandchild, Ezra. Each of them carries forward his spirit, his values, and his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Beyond his immediate family, Ernesto was a pillar in his community, touching the lives of thousands with his generosity, his wisdom, and his unwavering commitment to spreading the Gospel. He had a unique gift for making everyone he met feel truly seen and valued, and his impact extended far beyond his family. In celebrating Ernesto's life, we remember not just the man he was but the many lives he touched. His legacy is one of love, compassion, and an unshakeable faith in the Lord. He will be dearly missed but remembered forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to BIBLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL, 1 Bible League Plaza, Crete, Illinois 60417, Memo: WRFD Bob Burney Live, a cause close to Ernesto's heart, in honor of his lifelong commitment to sharing the Gospel and helping others.

A memorial service to celebrate Ernesto's life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (Northeast Chapel), 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road in Columbus, Ohio on April 5, 2024, with visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and service at 7:00 pm.

Interment will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024, with the procession gathering at Newcomer Funeral Home at 11:00 am and driving to Kingwood Memorial Park at 8230 Columbus Pike (US Route 23) in Lewis Center, Ohio.

The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects and share in remembering a man whose life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and human connection.
