Ethel Holley

July 5, 1932 — August 4, 2022

Ethel Maxine Holley, born July 5, 1932, was ninety years young, passed away August 4, 2022, after a brief illness.
Ethel was the last survivor of the nine children of Millard and Addie Mae Brown. She was born and raised on a small farm in Kentucky. She attended a one-room schoolhouse, sang in the church choir with her sisters, and developed her passion for family, gardening, cooking, and animals.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings, Dot, Lloyd, Clo, Pauline, Thurston, Ailene, Wilma, and Lowell and two of her sons Ted and Fred. She is survived by her children, Gary, Gerald, and Mary Ellen, many nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She came to Columbus in the early 1950's, married Donald O'Hara and raised her four sons, Gary, Gerald, Ted, and Fred.
Ethel loved cooking for family, (we will all miss her chicken and dumplings) learning new recipes, being with family, playing video games on her Kindle and spoiling her pets.

She lived a simple life, working in a school cafeteria later in her life, gardening, taking care of her chickens (her adopted children) and sharing a home with her eldest son Gary in Darbydale. One of her favorite songs was "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" a Grand Ole Opry anthem. The Circle is now unbroken. Rest in peace Mom, you will be missed.
