Ethel Ireta Sharlike

Ethel Ireta Sharlike, 95, of Columbus, passed away October 29, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on July 20, 1928 to the late Raymond W. and Bethel I. (Spires) Grover. She married Jack L. Sharlike on May 22, 1948, and they spent 65 wonderful years together, until his passing on September 5, 2013.
Left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Jan (Ken) Strickland; two sons, Jim Sharlike and Joe (Chris) Sharlike; grandchildren, Justin, Matt, Megan, Scott, and Kevin; and great-grandchild, Armani.
Rita was an avid reader. She loved to sing -- by herself or with friends. She would say if you are feeling sad, just sing! She was also a fan of the Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Cincinnati Bengals. At her residence at Oakleaf Village, she enjoyed playing bingo, hearing musicians perform and playing cards.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215.
