Ethel Macy Lee Saddler, age 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, after a short illness. She was born on February 21,1948 to the late Rev. Dr. Thomas James Saddler, Sr., and Lillian Catherine Saddler in Tutwiler, Mississippi.
Ethel was a remarkable woman who enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1966. During her high school years, she excelled as an exceptional debater on the debate team and was a first soprano in the A Cappella choir. Her beautiful soprano voice was renowned, and she touched the hearts of many as a soloist in numerous local church services and community events. Ethel was an active member of the Girl Scouts during her youth, and weekends were spent volunteering as a candy striper at the local hospital.
After graduating from Bradford Area High School in 1966, where she majored in Business, Ethel pursued a successful career in federal government service. She became an administrative professional and held crucial roles in maintaining the day-to-day operation of various federal government agencies in Washington DC.
Ethel is survived by; son: Christopher A, Scheitlin; daughters, Marian (Frank - Deceased) Robinette and Keisha LaVette Johnson; Siblings, Thomas (Yong) James Saddler, Jr., Jerdean Saddler, Barbara Jean Saddler - Deceased, Mary Louise (William) Shade, Rev. Dr. Willie George Saddler, Cleophas Henry Saddler, Lillie Bea (Alan - Deceased) Head, and Joseph Lee Saddler; Grandchildren: Gabrielle F. Robinette, Catherine J. Robinette, Christopher ( Chyanne ) Lee Scheitlin, Kai Mayes, Great-Grandchildren: Allan C. Robinette, Angel Marie Robinette - Deceased, Jay F. King-Field, Chris Lynn Scheitlin, Christopher Lee Scheitlin Jr., Chey Renaee Pope, Camille Terrian Scheitlin and a host of nieces, nephews and very special friend Paul E. Ferrinan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 7th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, 15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202. Burial in procession to Union Cemetery.
