Ethelyn J. King, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She founded the Gahanna Garnet Gems Chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was an active member of Gahanna Senior Citizens Community Center. She was a volunteer for Catholic Social Services and helped with voting registration. She has worked for Harding Hospital, Sarah Coventry, the Medical Bureau, and home healthcare. She will be greatly missed by long time friends, Roberta Knapp, Pamela "Peaches" Dodge, and Rev. Harold Davidson, along with many friends at Stygler Village, Red Hat Society, and Gahanna Senior Citizens Community Center. Preceded in death by sons, Keith and Scott Hunsberger; sister, Vivian Mallonee. Ethelyn is survived by son, Craig Hunsberger; brother, Lewis (Violet) Vitola; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hunsberger; brother-in-law, Keith Mallonee; 4 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Kim Spiert and Ellen Peterson for their acts of kindness. Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231 where the funeral will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 11 A.M. Interment at Wesley Chapel.
