Eugene Hodge

Eugene Hodge Jr., 66, (affectionately known as Gene),died December 7, 2021, after a long illness.

Born March 23, 1955, in Beckley, WV. to the late Eugene Sr. and Emma (Polly) Hodge, Gene was a man who lived life on his own terms. He loved life and made the most of it. He loved watching Westerns and Sci-Fi shows. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and family. Fishing is a Hodge must and Gene was no exception to the sport. After a short service in the Navy, Gene's interests turned to the culinary arts and medicine. Gene was our Big Brother and he'll be greatly missed by all of us.
Gene was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Hodge; mother, Emma Hodge; and brother, Samuel Hodge. He is survived by 6 siblings: Emma Lou (Steve) Copney, Roanoke VA, Victoria (Dwight) Shelton, Atlanta, GA., Norman Hodge, Charleston, WV., Gloria (Andre) Sims, Columbus, OH, Sandra Hodge, Columbus, OH, Lewis (Lisa) Hodge, Beckley, WV and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. We'd like to give special acknowledgement and thanks to Gene's long-term caregivers, Julie Penn, Jasmine Hall, Jodie Kimbler, and Richard Gainy.
