Eugene M. Kirtos

Eugene M. Kirtos "Gene" or "Geno", age 86, of Centerville passed away on February 1, 2023. He was born in Youngstown on May 11, 1936 to the late John and Katherine Kirtos. In addition to his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Geraldine; son, Richard Kirtos; brother, Robert "Bobby" Kirtos; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Bagnoli and brother-in-law, Mike Bagnoli.

Eugene is survived by his children, Michael (Lisa) Kirtos, Diane Justus, Cheryl (Robert) Eden, Jeff (Angel) Kirtos, Michelle Kirtos; grandchildren, Kelley, Zachary, Elijah, Stephanie, Steven (Samantha), Xaviea, Rebecca, Harmony (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden, Landen, Logan, Aurora, Laelle, Mirabelle; brother, John "Ed" (Josephine) Kirtos; as well as many other family and friends.

Eugene retired from Firestone and the United States Postal Service. After retirement, he enjoyed working as an usher at Nationwide Arena for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Eugene was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. He was an active member of his community and belonged to the local senior center where he enjoyed playing bingo, going dancing at the Chezh Club and listening to live music.

Eugene was a member of St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church in Columbus and St. Barbara Byzantine Catholic Church in Dayton. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church, 5858 Cleveland Ave. Service will begin at 5:00 p.m. officiated by Father Robert Jager.
