Eva Diane Barnett, affectionately known as "Grandma Di," left this world on January 5, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on December 27, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, Eva devoted her life to her family and community, making a profound impact on everyone she met.
Her career led her through various beloved positions, including her time with Big Bear and Hearts department store, and most notably, at Lindbergh Elementary School. Her unwavering love for children propelled her into her final role at a daycare after her retirement, where her nurturing spirit continued to shine.
Family was at the heart of who Eva was. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Angela Napper and Jamie Fuller. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Brooklyn Myers, Lyndsey Barnett, Maddison Myers-Friend, Joseph Hutton, Michael Fuller, Courtney Napper, and Thomas Fuller. She welcomed each of them with open arms and endless affection. Eva's heart expanded even further with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Brayden, Nicholas, Xavier, Zayden, Maddox, Jameson, Isla, and Ava, who brought her immeasurable happiness. Over the years, Eva opened her door and made others feel just as loved as they were who own, she was a bonus Mom and Grandma to others.
Eva was not only a family woman, but also a warm, welcoming presence to everyone around her. She had an incredible ability to make anyone feel included, never knowing a stranger. Her infectious spirit and kindness resonated throughout her life, leaving a lasting legacy of love and compassion.
In addition to her family, Eva is survived by her brothers, Butch Herron, Mark Herron, and Dave Herron, and her sisters, Vicky Cordery and Lisa West. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Herron, and her mother, Frances Smith.
Eva’s passions extended beyond her family life; she found joy in cheering for Ohio State football and attending Hippie Fest. Those who knew her well will remember her vibrant personality, her nurturing nature, and the profound love she had for her family. One of her most favorite hobbies was making sure she was at EVERY football event Michael and Tommy were in, cheering up and down the sidelines.
