Evelyn Ann Hampton, 88, Westerville, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born in Paden City, WV on December 21, 1922, to Jess and Emily (Shadak) Shannon and is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Madeline Shannon; brothers, Joe, Fred, George, Phillip Shannon. Survivors include her daughters, Pam Hampton, Vickie (Larry) Metz, Veronica Hampton; sons, Jeff (Elaine) and Ken Hampton; sister, Mary (Tom) Tersigni; brothers, Francis and Tony (Monica) Shannon; grandchildren, Robin (Rick) Murphy, Jennifer Grago, Scott Metz, Tyler Hampton, Rase Hampton, great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ian, Jake; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Evelyn was artistic and created many pastels, sculptures and murals and attended The Ohio State University. She also enjoyed bowling. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Saturday, December 17, 2011, 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
