Evelyn L. Conley

Evelyn Lois Conley, 88 of Orient, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 2, 1936 in Grundy, Virginia to Carl and June Clevinger. She was a proud resident of many years of Buchanan County and was a 1956 graduate of Grundy High School. She was married to Wandell Thomas Conley on August 18, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio. She was a tough cookie on the line at Crane Plastics for over 25 years. She was a strong woman of faith who had attended the Church of God in Columbus and Grove City. Evelyn was a wonderful cook who enjoyed trying new recipes. She was famous for her homemade biscuits and chocolate pies amongst many other favorites. When she wasn't cooking, she enjoyed reading and working in her flower beds. She was an avid traveler, and over the years had traveled and visited 45 states and several countries. There were never too many trips to Amish country, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family, especially her great-granddaughter Raelynn, who was the apple of her eye. 

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wandell "Buck" Conley; children, Gene Conley, Greg Conley, Alicia (Mike Datz) Koah, and Walter Conley; grandchildren, Meagan (Ben) Bowsher, Jeremiah (Megan Reynolds) Koah, Gregory Conley, Sarah Brown, and Maria Varney; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Lee Conley, and her brothers, Frank Clevinger and Carl Clevinger Jr.

Visitation Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 10-11am and Funeral Service to begin at 11am at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A Graveside Committal will follow at Muhlenberg Darbyville Cemetery.
