Henriquez
F. Gaston Henriquez, lovingly referred to as Gaston, was born September 6, 1918 in Inagua, Bahamas. After an extended illness he departed this life on March 4, 2012.
He worked about 50 years as a registered nurse and held the distinction of having been the first black male registered nurse in Palm Beach County, Florida. He also served as local elder in Ephesus SDA Church in West Palm Beach, Florida for over 50 years.
Mr. Henriquez leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Alfreda K. Henriquez; children, Stephanie Henriquez of Columbus, OH, Camille Howard of New York, NY, Claudette (Lawrence) Jouett of Newberry, FL and Francios G. (Laura Stephenson) Henriquez II of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, Angel Lee, Gabrielle Jouett, Alexander Henriquez and Nicholas Henriquez; great grandchild, Michaela Lee.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Graveside service will be Friday, March 9, 2012 at 1:30 PM in the chapel at Blendon Central Cemetery, 6340 Hempstead Rd. Westerville.
Mr. Henriquez touched the hearts of many people and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Goodness truly found a home in the heart of Gaston Henriquez and he will be greatly missed.
