January 16, 1937 — February 27, 2025

Gahanna

Flora Virginia Crump, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on February 27, 2025 at the age of 88. She was born on January 16, 1937 in Blackfork, Ohio. After moving to Columbus, Ohio in 1956, she lived with her sister Lula Mae and was employed at White Cross Hospital (now Riverside Hospital). Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Lloyd “Joe” Crump. In the late 1960’s, after working for nearly a decade at Western Electric, she left full-time employment to become a homemaker, keeping a meticulously clean home, and preparing delicious meals for her family. In the early 1970’s, Virginia and Joe moved to the Cumberland Ridge Subdivision. Living in Cumberland Ridge brought her much joy and happiness, as she enjoyed her close friendships with neighbors Jill and Peachie. During the 1970’s, she worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Cassady Elementary. Her love of children was completely fulfilled when her three grandchildren were born. Her life was full when caring for her grandchildren, preparing delicious meals, and spending quality time with Joe and her family. Virginia always spoke her mind, but with a loving heart. Virginia’s legacy will leave a lasting impression on everyone who loved her.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd “Joe” Crump, parents Clem and Gail Keels, brothers Ray, Eldon, Rowland, Turley and Weldon Keels, sisters Tressa Davis, Thelma Martin and Mary Keels. She leaves to cherish her memory children Anita Dickerson and Eric Crump, grandchildren Brandi Carter, John Sims III, and Brandon Crump, great-grandson Mason Carter, sister Lula Mae Anderson, sisters-in-law Dorothy Crump and Sharon (Robert) Pinckney, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Virginia requested a private graveside service and for everyone to remember the good times they shared with her.
