Floyd Cook, Sr, age 89, born on January 5, 1935, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Will and Ella Mae (Marks) Cook. Floyd was well known in the community as "Flick" and he never met a stranger.
He served in the United States Navy from September of 1952 to February of 1955 and again February of 1956 to September of 1958. He returned home and began working at Buckeye Steel. He then became an expert at painting cars with his long-time friend, Jerry Robinson, Sr. at Robinson and Son's Body Shop.
Floyd was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and also The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Floyd knew the Lord and he knew that Jesus had died for all of our sins. Within the last few years of his life, he was being ministered to and knew he wanted to go to heaven. Along with his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by his Siblings, Willie Cook, Arthur B. Cook Sr., Tommie Cook, Dorothy Williams, Mae Nella Page, Donna Tyler, Mary Cook, Octavia James.
Floyd is survived by his children; Floyd Jr., Brenda, Tisha, Debbie and LaVerne. Brother, Joe E. Cook, along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
The family of Floyd Cook, Sr. would like to thank all of those who reached out and expressed care and concern as they navigated through this difficult time.
