Frances L. Gutbrod

Frances L. Gutbrod, 90, of Columbus, Ohio passed away February 10, 2022. She was born on January 31, 1932 in Maben,West Virginia to the late Frank and Bertha (Banton) Bledsoe.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 40 years, James Gutbrod.
Surviving family includes son, David Gutbrod Sr.; daughter, Jane Holt; grandchildren, William "BJ" Holt III, Adam Holt, Heather (Anthony) Wright, David "Jamey" Gutbrod Jr., Nicholas (Sarah) Gutbrod; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Brenden, Anthony Jr., Isaiah, Brayden; brother, Jack (Phyllis) Bledsoe.
Frances retired from Columbus City Schools after more than 30 years of service. She served in many roles, including librarian and aide for children with disabilities. Frances enjoyed crossword puzzles, game shows, and board games. She dedicated her life caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Susan Wooten from Visiting Angels, who developed a friendship with Frances after caring for her the last several years; and Kobacker House for providing exceptional end of life care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 16th from 5pm to 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hampton Cemetery in West Jefferson.
