Francis Race Harder, 82, born February 18, 1930 in Wilkesville, Ohio passed away January 31, 2013 at the Amazing Kobacker House, Columbus, Ohio.
Preceded in death by his parents, Orvil F. & Hylah M. Harder; sister, Emma Lavenia Headley; nephew, Rocky Blankenship.
Survived by his beautiful wife of 58 years, JoAnn Harder; beloved dog; Charlie; children, Beverly Harder, Jim "Randy" Harder, Jane Lewis (Steve Marston), Larry Lent (Theresa); grandchildren, Maggie Webber (Brian), Joe Harder (Kristyn), Chris Lewis, AJ Lent, Dustin Harder, Jonathan Lent; sister, Martha Freas.
Numerous special friends and family including, Norma Jean Riser, Debbie Somdahl, Kathy Minton, Murl Lent, Jeannette Wolcott, Stephanie Ingle; front porch buddies, Keith and Terri Russell.
Race was a dedicated patriot an Army Korean War Veteran, Life Member of AMVETS, Retired from Lennox Ind. of 32 years, member of Sheet Metal Local 535. Hobbies and interests include fishing, bowling, and poker. Race's favorite past time was spending time doing anything with his Beautiful Bride JoAnn.
Race's greatest passion and love was family and as close friends know; you were considered family. Race continued to reinforce his strong family values by demonstrating his love for others whatever your needs were. These values will continue to influence the many lives that were touched by this Great Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Friend and Neighbor.
Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Chuck Glover, officiating.
