Freda R. Johnson, 83, passed away July 17, 2011. Born March 4, 1928 in Leon, KY to Luther and Margie (Shepard) Hall. In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Johnson; sisters, Adeline Dickerson and Kathy Hall; brothers, Raymond and Ralph Hall; grandson Donald Smith Jr. and his daughter, Bobbie Jo. Freda is survived by her daughter, Linda (Robert) Guyer; sons, Michael R. Hall Sr. and Donald (Lanice) Smith; sisters, Francis Withrow and Violet Berry; brothers, Thurston (Mary) and David Hall; grandchildren, Kimberly Burgess, Christy (Erik) Nell, Michael R. (Tiffany) Hall Jr., Erin Guyer, Thomas and Michael Smith and Melinda Cabrera; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Cierra, Myra, Zachary, Alek, Frankie, Colin, Dustin, Carrina, Randy and Cody. Freda loved gospel singing and was a part of the Way of Life Gospel Singers. She also attended Chapel Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Grove City. Freda was known as "Buckeye Granny" to many. Visitation Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow in GreenLawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
