Frederick B. Ingerham, 92, of Canal Winchester, passed away on November 22, 2023. He was born in Columbus on August 17, 1931 to the late James and Naomi (Graves) Ingerham. He married Antoinette Amantea on September 6, 1992, and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Jodi (Jim) Chamberlain, Jill (Bobby) Gavin, Paul (Darcy) McPherson, and Karen (Bobby) Neal; grandchildren, Chad Chamberlain, Erin Guerri, Robert Gavin, Bryan Gavin, Todd Ingerham, Josh Ingerham, Courtney Gibson, Brittany Newcomb, Ryan Benson, David McPherson, Shaun Benson, and David Weaver; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, family members, and friends.
Along with his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Ingerham; son, James Ingerham; daughter, Kathleen Weaver; brother, James Ingerham; and sister, Lois Ingerham.
Fred was a man of pride and honor. He graduated from South High School and was a member of the South Bulldog Football team, where he was chosen Second Team All-City as a center. He also played middle guard on defense.
After graduating high school, Fred went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home, He worked as an offset printing press operator for many years at Herr Printing Company until he transitioned into sales. He sold graphic art supplies for Polychrome Corp. where he won several awards for top sales. He also had his own ink company which he worked until very recently.
Fred was an active member in all areas of church, serving as a dedicated member at several churches. He served as the choir director for many years. He also enjoyed using his singing skills as a soloist at church, and for weddings.
When he wasn't working, caring for the family, or serving his parish; Fred loved to play softball and go boating. The family loved to take trips to the beach in Florida. He loved to travel around the country and internationally; including Italy.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather that will be missed by all.
Family will receive family and friends from 11 to 1pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Newcomer, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, 43231. A service to honor his life will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, also at the funeral home. Burial and military honors will be held at graveside at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
