Frederick Leslie Molter, 89, Columbus, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012.
Fred was born in Ironton, OH on August 15, 1923, to Edward and Marguerite Molter and is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Clara Prahl; brothers, Ken, Ed (twin) and Clay "Emo" Molter; daughter-in-law, Joni Molter; great-grandson, Jaden Molter. Fred attended Mifflin High School, worked 11 years for Commercial Motor Freight and retired from Columbus Board of Education after 32 years. He served during WW II in the European Campaign as a T/5, member of VFW, AmVets 89, Masonic Lodge 563, Moose Lodge 1427 and Eagles 2252.
Fred is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis (Whited) Molter; daughter, Phyllis L. Timson; sons, Frederick W. and Tracy L. (LuAnn) Molter; granddaughter, Alicia (John) Grossman; grandsons, Jamie Timson, Josh, Andrew, Jeremy and Austin Molter; great-grandchildren, Shane Molter and Allie Timson; sisters, Mildred (Jack) Ware and Mary Molter; brother, Bob Molter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also a member of the McDonalds Breakfast Club.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012, 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. In addition, Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM followed by the Funeral Service at 12:30. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
