Frederick Irvin Mcpherson
September 14, 1940 — December 21, 2021
Fred McPherson, age 81 years, passed away peacefully at his home on December 21, 2021 as a result of Covid complications.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Evelyn McPherson; sister, Onda Kaye; son-in-law, John Griffith; grandsons Cameron Griffith and Joey Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandy; three sons, Bill, Bryan and Alan (Tammy); daughters, Melinda Thomas (Mike) and Shelly Griffith; sister, Carol (Bernie) Gros; brother-in-law, John (LaVerne) Mathews; 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred enjoyed his Diet Coke, dirt biking with his sons and friends, scouting restaurants and playing poker with the "guys". He was proud to serve his country in the National Guard and his community in the Charity Newsies. He loved being a dad and a grandpa to all of his children and grandchildren. Family events were a must.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from to 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions SW Chapel, 3933 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 10am. A graveside service will follow at Concord Cemetery.
