Gabriel P. Vanik, 89 of Columbus, passed away at his residence on August 29, 2015. Born on June 19, 1926 to the late Michael and Mary Vanik in Hazelton, PA. Gabriel served his country with the U.S Air Force. Survived by son Gabriel (Nancy) Vanik, Jr, grandchildren Anthony Vanik, Danielle (Mike) Best and Lora Vanik, great grandchildren Malakai and Joshua Best, brother Joseph Vanik, sister-in-law Jean (Charles) Varda, several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife Rose Vanik, siblings John, William, Iona, Jacqueline and Eleanor.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus on Friday, September 4 from 6 to 8pm.
Mass will be held at St. Matthias, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus on Saturday, September 5 at 10am. Burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
