Gary W. Allen, 73, of Grove City, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 20, 2010. He was born October 18, 1936, in Salem, IN, son of the late Tom and Helen Green Allen. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Sherita Summers and brother-in-law, Jerry Summers. He retired from Nationwide Insurance after 40 years of service and also enjoyed many years of travel to Tucson, AZ, woodworking, reading and spending time with his family. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Evans Allen; daughters, Michele (Ron) Demmy and Tammy (Jeff) Thornton; son, Scott (Jocelyn) Allen; sister, Nancy (Paul) Edwards; grandchildren, Lindsay (Dave Richardson) and Logan Demmy, Evan, Hannah and Hailee Thornton, Amber, Chrystal, Christian, Meghan, Cheyenne and Justin Allen. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd. Grove City. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the church with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery.
