Gary Gaines

Gary Eldean Gaines, 65, of Westerville, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, March 13, 2021. Gary enjoyed life and all that goes with it. He was kind at heart, and could always make you laugh, even if it wasn't funny. He loved going to car races and raced his own stock car. Working on cars or anything with wheels was his kind of fun. When he was a teenager he built a two story bicycle by welding two bike frames on top of each other and rode it. He worked on the space shuttles at Rockwell and was a welder in Moab, Utah where he resided for many years. He could fix just about anything, and was always ready and willing to stop what he was doing and come and help. We will greatly miss his playful attitude and ornery smile. He was preceded in death by his father George, and mother Lillian (Wolverton) Gaines. Brothers, George and Sean Gaines. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Mitch) and granddaughter, Poppy Hatton. Brother, Jim (Debbie) Gaines. Sister, Michele (Jerry) Sorrell. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation for a gathering to celebrate Gary and Sean Gaines will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Hours 3 to 6 pm.
