Gayle Glenice Mailloux

Gayle Glenice Mailloux (Dobesh) passed away on April 10, 2024 at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Born February 8, 1947 in Burke, S.D. to Elmer and Florence Dobesh, Gayle attended grade school at the Woidneck Country School. During this time Gayle enjoyed horseback riding, dance, and baton twirling and participated in many local talent contests performing twirling exhibitions. At Gregory High School she enjoyed many activities such as FHA, head majorette, choir, cheerleader, and Job's Daughters. She attended Black Hills State College at Spearfish, S.D., where she received her B.S. degree in January 1970.

Gayle married Gary Mailloux of Sturgis, S.D. on August 23,1969. After Gary joined Kmart in 1972 they relocated to many states during this time, landing in San Antonio, Texas for many years, where Gayle was employed by J.C. Penney Credit Center as a department secretary. In 1997 they relocated to Omaha, Neb., where Gayle was employed by First Data Corporation. She received Employee Of The Year during her time there. After relocating to Columbus, Ohio to be close to her daughter Tina and her children, she was employed by Discover Financial until her retirement in 2018.

Gayle was a member of the Methodist Church of the Messiah in Westerville, Ohio, where she was active in her Sunday School class and also served as a Greeter, a service she thoroughly enjoyed.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Florence Dobesh, sister LaVerle Bails, brother Ronald Dobesh, brothers-in-law Don Bails, Jerry Mailloux, and Randy Mailloux, and sister-in-law Patty Tope. Survivors include her husband Gary, daughters Tina Kassebaum (Tom) and Tammie Mailloux, granddaughters Alyssa, Kimberly, and Kaylee Kassebaum, brother Dennis (Arlene) Dobesh, and sisters-in-law Ruth Dobesh and Cindy Mailloux.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 11:00am at Church of the Messiah Church UMC, located at 51 North State Street, Westerville, OH 43081.
