Gene R. Lockhart, 69, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his home. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Lockhart and Mabel Vernon; sister, Mary Lockhart; and brother, Robert Lockhart. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Lockhart; sons, Mark (Debbie) Lockhart, Mike (Valerie) Lockhart, and Ron Lockhart; grandchildren, Kim (Matt) Groves, John, Rick, Ryan, Jackson, and Sophie Lockhart; great grandchildren, Kiley Renee Lockhart and Emma Grace Groves; sister, Louise (Gene) Pescisolido; brother, Ron (Kelly) Lockhart; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Friends Worship Center, 3030 Clime Road, Columbus, Ohio 43223. Pastor Bruce Bell officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Friends Worship Center.
