George Hunter Skaggs, 59, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008. George was born March 2, 1949 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Escom and Dixie Skaggs. George was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in U.S. Army and worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years. In addition to his parents, George is survived by his daughter, Amy (Cristian) Martinez; grandchildren, Cristopher, Brayden, and Sofia; sister, Elizabeth (Tim) Dilley; brother, Roger (Cheryl) Skaggs; niece; Molly Dilley; nephews, Jason (Rachel) Dilley, Steve (Jackie) Skaggs, Jeff (Sarah) Skaggs, and Mike (Lynn) Skaggs; and many other family members and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 11:00AM at Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Rd., Columbus, Ohio. Pastor John Meade officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
