George A., 80, of South Bloomfield, formerly of Terra Ceia, FL (25 years), passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009. George retired after 28 years of service as a Captain of the Columbus Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mabel (Nee Biggs) Perkins and siblings Robert, Norma and Helen. He was survived by his wife of sixty years, Phyllis (Nee Chaney) Perkins, two sons George (Debra) of South Bloomfield, Edward (Angela) of Wilmington, daughter, Melanie Perkins-Graham of Ashville, grandchildren Ashley Graham, John (Jane) and Joe (Carrie) Perkins, one great grandson on the way, special people Karen Nikolajski and Gary Fairbanks and his beloved pet "Smokey-Kitty". Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2009 from 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon, with funeral service at 12:00 Noon all at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Interment immediately following service in St. Joe's Cemetery.
