George Tomashuk

George Tomashuk, 68, of Columbus, passed away on November 2, 2024. He was born in Buffalo, New York to the late Alexander and Helen (Mruk) Tomashuk. He married Lisa J. Sund on January 22, 1983.

Along with his wife Lisa, those left to cherish George’s memory include his children Timothy (Antigone) Tomashuk and Christina (George) Lytle and his grandson Theodore Tomashuk, as well as other family members and friends. George is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Siwa, and both of his parents.

George graduated high school in 1973. He went on to attend and obtain his Bachelor’s in Engineering from State University of Buffalo, Amherst. George worked as a Structural and Civil Engineer, designing bridges and structures for 40 years. When he wasn’t at work, George loved playing guitar, riding motorcycles, listening to his collection of vinyls, photography and perusing items at nearby flea markets. 

In life, he was generous with friends and loyal to those around him. Friends would say that George was friendly, approachable and witty. As a "down to earth" person, George was easy to be around. George loved the Lord and attended Church until he could not due to physical limitations. While his life was filled with challenges, he overcame them with little complaint. George was proud of his academic accomplishments and titles achieved in the workplace. George earned the recognition that came along with Level 3 Professional Engineer.
