Gerald "Gary" Boetcher, age 79, passed on to Heaven on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born on Friday, March 13, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio.
Gary was a 1959 graduate of Franklin Heights High School. He founded Boetcher's Lift Truck Service Inc. (BLTS) in 1979. He ran that company along with his late wife Sharon and two sons, Tony and Toby until he retired in 2009. Gary loved to travel, ride his motorcycle and spend time at car shows with his fully restored steel 1929 Dodge Street Rod. He also built multiple race cars along with his sons, son-in-law and grandsons as he always had a passion for down home dirt track racing.
He had an unconditional love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as family and friends. He was a very active member of the Grove City Masonic Lodge #689 for 40 years.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Howard "Butch" and Helen Boetcher and wife of 47 years, Sharon. He is survived by his wife, Sally Boetcher; children Tony (Melissa) Boetcher, Tonda (James) Halfhill, Toby (Kathy) Boetcher; step-children, Tami (Brian) Kelly, Sheri (Trent) Smith; grandchildren, Brian (Kelsey) Boetcher, Bradly Boetcher (Hayley Stuckey), Brittany (Jason) Myers, Tyler (Tayde) Boetcher, Kenny Davis (Paula); step-grandchildren, Justin (fiancé Manda) Stout, Blaine (Mollie) Kelly, Dalton (Amber) Mosley, Shawnee (fiancé Ramon) Mosley; great-grandchildren, Tia, Truitt and Briggs Boetcher, Carson Stuckey; step-great-grandchildren, Trey, Chase, Gavin, Mia, Owen, Jordan, Justin; close cousins, Denny (Sue) Feyh, Sue O'Hara, June (Grace) Feyh; brother-in-law, Darryl Bennett; many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
The visitation will be on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in grove City, Ohio 43123. The Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 followed by procession to Green Lawn Cemetery.
