Gerald Allen Kincaid Sr, (Gerry) age 90, died February 12, 2021 at St Anne's Hospital after a long battle with heart failure. Gerry is survived by his former wife, Shirley, children: Gerald A. Kincaid Jr, Debra Costabillo and step-son Scott Boekhoff. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Kristopher S. Kincaid, Andrew P. Kincaid and James D. Kincaid. He has one surviving sister Martha Joyce. Gerry was a veteran of the Army Air Force and served during the Korean War era. One of twin sons born to Clarence Kincaid and Roma Carrol, Gerry grew up in a tough neighborhood in Louisville Ky. He enlisted in the service at just age 15 and was trained as an aircraft mechanic. He served overseas in the Philippines and various stateside assignments to include Lockborne AF Base. After the service, Gerry worked briefly as a police officer and other positions but ultimately made a career at Columbus Auto Parts. Gerry was handsome, charming, athletic and exceptionally bright. Though not formally educated, he loved classical music, was an avid newspaper reader and could converse with skill on virtually any topic. Gerry was a passionate sports fan and a life-long contrarian. Consequently, he always cheered for anyone playing against the Buckeyes. He was a long-time member of the AMVETs. He loved his Grandchildren. He will be interred on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 10:30am in a family plot at Union Cemetery in Columbus. A celebration of life will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
