Gerald "Jerry" Lawrence Miller of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on August 11, 2023. He was born in Waverly, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Lucy (Anderson) Miller.
He is preceded in death by the absolute love of his life, Carolyn Miller; sisters, Eileen (Jack) Foster, Margery (Robert) Deacon; niece, Linda Dailey; and Son-in-Law; Mike McCoy.
Surviving family includes; nieces and nephews; Van, Alice, David; children, Kathy, Teresa, Pat (Wendy); grand children, Michael (Kari), Andy, Maggie, Justin; as well as, great grand children, Morgan, Tripp.
Gerald more affectionately known as "Jerry" and "Unc" was an amazing man who loved to joke and spend time with his family.
Jerry was 1953 graduate of Waverly High School.
After graduation and spending a few years in college he decided to serve in the United States Army.
Jerry held a few positions with Battelle, the Piketon Diffusion Plant and then retired with the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services as a computer programmer.
In his spare time he enjoyed trap shooting, muzzle loading, hosting family gatherings, and gardening.
Jerry was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Eagles Lodge 2252.
Jerry was loved by his family and by those who knew him. He will be forever cherished and missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231 and on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Boyer Funeral Home, 125 West 2nd Street, Waverly, OH 45690 with a Funeral Service immediately following. Burial will be held at Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, OH.
