Gertrude Rowland, 67, of Columbus, OH, passed away at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer on September 24, 2015. She was born on July 5, 1948 in Galliapolis, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanch Pearson, husband, Gary "Tom" Rowland, siblings, Margaret Cummings, Elizabeth Dotson, William Pearson, Alfonso Pearson, Ocie Ann Pearson, Carolyn Pearson, Zelma Mae Pearson, father-in-law, Paul Rowland.
Surviving family includes children, Tracy (James) Locke, Greg Rowland, Paul (Paula)Rowland, grandchildren, James (Jen) Locke, Paul (Angela) Locke, Anthony (Megan) Locke, Anthony Fowler, Allen Rowland, Thomas Rowland, Alex McCafferty, great-grandchildren, Mary, James, Payten, Ariel, Grayson and Noah Locke, mother-in-law, Mary Pitts, siblings, Bobby Pearson, Etta (Ed) McQuire, Diana (Charles) North, Terry (Libby) Johnson, sisters-in-law, Diane (Dale) Acree, Patrice (Thom) Driscol, many nieces, nephews and friends including Fonda (Steve) Moore, Tavia Lorenzoni, Rich Byers, Patricia Rowland and Phylis Mills.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Monday, September 28, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A funeral service will be held at 10am, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield, OH.
