Glen Charles

CHARLES
Glen, 69, resident of Columbus, OH, died after an extended illness, on Sunday, January 10th, 2010, at Friendship Village of Columbus. Glen was born October 2nd, 1940 to the late Luther and Virginia Thomas Charles of Lovely, KY. He attended school at Warfield High School in Warfield KY, and was a long time employee of Diebles Heat Treating Company/Metal Improvement of Columbus, OH. He enjoyed all kinds of sports and Nascar Racing, and was a regular spectator at Columbus Motor Speedway.
He is survived by his brother Ray (Joan) Charles of Georgetown KY, daughter, Donna (Jamie) Charles Tabler of Cutler, OH, three step daughters Joyce Thomas, Candy Wine and Kathy Owens all of Columbus,OH, one son Glen Ray (Brandy) Charles and two step sons Ronnie (Dorothy) Stackpole, Sam (Steve) Thompson all of Columbus, OH, two grandchildren that were his caretakers, Chuck and Crystal Leib of Columbus, OH. He had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that were all special to him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty L Charles, daughter Edith G. Charles, an infant son and a grandson, Jeffery Ford.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 16th, 2010, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. Interment immediately following service in Obetz Cemetery.
