Glenn Roger Bardus

December 19, 1938 — April 25, 2023

Glenn Roger Bardus, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023, from complications due to vascular dementia, at the StoryPoint Senior Living facility in Grove City. He was 84 years old. Glenn was born on December 19, 1938 in Amherst, Ohio, and attended Amherst High School and Baldwin Wallace College. He married Sharon Bickel on June 10, 1960, and they spent the next 62 years together, residing continuously in Columbus, OH. Glenn lived a full and rich life, filled with curiosity, determination, and a deep love for his family. He was known for his fair-mindedness, honorable nature, and gentlemanly demeanor. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Glenn's passion for science, particularly nature and astronomy, started in his childhood and continued throughout his life. His keen observation skills allowed him to notice and appreciate the tiniest creatures, flowers, and fossils while walking in the forest. He loved sharing his knowledge of the constellations and the wonders of the night skies with his children and grandchildren. Glenn had the spirit of an entrepreneur. When personal computers were invented, he saw an opportunity to start his own business. In a proud collaboration with his wife, he created and sold educational software under the name of B5 Software. Eventually, he opened one of the earliest computer stores in Columbus. Glenn's heart always belonged to his family. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and had a quiet, mischievous sense of humor that endeared him to everyone. His children and family have many fond memories of sharing hobbies, making home improvements, traveling, and discovering new treasures in nature together. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Eugene and Quintilla Hope Bardus, nee Wilding, and his sister Donna (George) Fritz. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his three sons, Steve (Robyn) of New Hampshire, Jeffrey of Grove City, and Burton (Nancy) of Worthington, his five grandchildren, Jadon, Daria, Nicholas, Duck (Genevieve) Rachel (Alex), and great grandchild Wylie. Glenn's legacy of curiosity, determination, and love for his family will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
